Kanchan Raju has been dancing since the age of 5 & has trained in Indian styles including Bollywood, semi-classical, folk, & Bharatnatyam for over 10 years. Last year she discovered her interest in using dance for social change when she hosted 2 dance workshop fundraisers via Zoom, collecting over $2000 for Direct Relief & the NAACP. Kanchan was also passionate about community service at her high school, Mission San Jose, where she was the head of ASB’s Community Service Committee & a chair of Relay for Life. She is a current freshman at UCLA & a member of UCLA’s Bollywood-fusion dance team, Nashaa.

Alisha Gupta is the founder of non-profit Needed But Forgotten, donating suitcases to foster children & has initiated podcast What Cause Inspires You, sharing global student service stories & providing scholarships for student social ventures. She has been a dancer since was 3, now practicing in over 5 dance styles, & has been involved in Maitri as Youth Lead, ensuring students realize the importance of gender equality & harms of partner violence.

For this collaboration, a Bollywood & hip-hop fusion dance workshop was held to raise money for women survivors of domestic violence. This collaboration went from 1/5/21 to 1/20/21 we surpassed our goal of $130 and raised $183! ALL donations/contributions go directly to the Maitri Organization Thank you for being a part of solucky's journey! <3
