a hip-hop dance workshop entirely over Zoom

This hip hop dance workshop was hosted by the talented dancers, Twisha Chawla & Alyssa Villareal. The entire workshop took place over a Zoom meeting that was be emailed to anyone who bought a $5 entry ticket. ALL proceeds within this collaboration with solucky as a brand went directly to a Mrs. Najah's Kitchen, by Rebuilding Allianace, to provide emergency meals to families in need in Gaza. Our goal was to hit $130, but after this collaboration, we were gratefully able to raise $170! We are incredibly thankful to be able to surpass our goal like this. Thank you again! <3

Twisha Chawla
she/her
Twisha Chawla has been dancing since she was 5 & is trained in styles such as Bollywood, Kathak, Hip Hop, & Ballet. She has held 4 non-profit workshops to help further cancer research & donate to domestic violence awareness organizations. Twisha dances at Mona Khan Company & is also on her school's varsity dance team. Twisha is also passionate about her work on Project Morph as she contributes to donation drives & organizes events to raise awareness to Domestic Violence in the Bay Area.
Alyssa Villareal
she/her
Alyssa Villareal has been dancing since the age of 2 & has trained in various styles including Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Hip Hop, Tap, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, and Acro. She currently trains with Westlake School for the Performing Arts, Apprentice (junior company of The Company), & Alonzo King Lines Ballet. She also plans to attend Tisch School of the Arts at New York University for a Dance BFA with a minor in Astronomy this fall. She believes in using her art to uplift communities & initiate change which is what inspired her to hold workshops similar to this one. Last year, she hosted a series of dance classes which raised over $1000 to donate to the Black Lives Matter Foundation. She has also been a part of organizations such as Raising the Barre which holds costume drives & banquets to serve the community through dance.
